EGR RollTrac

EGR RollTrac is a vehicle-specific electric tonneau cover for powered opening and closing from the cab switch or key fob remote. It helps protect gear from weather and opportunistic access while giving the tub a clean, retractable cover. It is also described as a roller shutter ute cover, retractable tonneau or powered ute tub cover.

The Electric E3 suits utes where the tub is accessed regularly. That includes work vehicles, daily drivers and touring builds with drawers, a fridge or other equipment in the tub. If access is infrequent, a mechanical roller cover may still be the more appropriate choice. The electric version is primarily about convenient, repeatable operation.

CHOOSE BY USE CASE

Choose the Electric E3 when powered access will make a practical difference during regular use. A cab control is useful when opening the tub from inside the vehicle. The key fob remote allows the cover to be operated while approaching the ute.

A mechanical cover remains a valid option when the tub is rarely opened or powered operation is unnecessary. Neither option removes the need to organise and secure cargo correctly. A roller cover also occupies some tub space at the bulkhead and along the upper rails, which should be considered when planning drawers, fridge slides or other equipment.

WHY VEHICLE-SPECIFIC FIT MATTERS

Each EGR RollTrac kit is matched to a stated vehicle and year range. Tub width, rail position, seals and mounting points can differ between revisions of the same model. A cover ordered for the wrong range may not align, close or operate correctly.

Check the year of manufacture, model designation and existing tub accessories before ordering. Where a vehicle sits near a changeover year, contact the workshop with the vehicle details rather than relying on registration year alone.

BED LENGTH MATTERS ON THE SILVERADO 1500

The listed Silverado 1500 kits are separated into 5.7ft and 6.5ft bed versions. These products are not interchangeable. Measure or confirm the factory bed configuration before selecting a kit, particularly if the vehicle's build history is unclear.

SECURITY AND WEATHER PROTECTION

When closed, the EGR system is designed to resist opportunistic access, particularly when used with a locked tailgate. It should not be treated as an impenetrable security enclosure. Valuable equipment still needs sensible storage and insurance consideration.

The cover and seals help limit normal rain and dust entering the tub. No roller cover should be assumed to make a tub completely waterproof or dustproof in every condition. Correct rail alignment, seal contact and installation are important to its performance.

INSTALLATION, FITMENT AND COMPLIANCE

A quality installation depends on level rails, correct canister positioning, even seal contact and properly protected electrical connections. Existing sports bars, racks, tub liners and other accessories can change what is required. Compatibility should be checked before the installation begins.

Vehicle modification and accessory requirements can vary by vehicle and jurisdiction. Do not assume a particular installation is automatically compliant or requires no further approval. Check the applicable state regulations or discuss the complete setup with our workshop.
