WHY VEHICLE-SPECIFIC MATTERS
Generic screens can leave gaps around curved glass, mirrors and window edges. Vehicle-specific 4WD window screens are shaped for the nominated model and series, giving more consistent coverage and a neater fit against the glass.
These products are reflective solar shades for parked vehicles. They are not insect screens and should not be treated as ventilation mesh. Buyers needing both shade and insect control should assess those functions separately.
REFLECTIVE LAYER AND HEAT REDUCTION
Solar Screen products use reflective metallised material with a backing layer. The reflective face is positioned toward the glass to help send radiant heat and UV back through the window. The backing separates that face from the interior side of the glass.
Actual heat reduction varies with ambient temperature, glass area, tint, vehicle colour, screen coverage and how long the vehicle is parked. No single temperature or UV figure should be assumed for every vehicle and condition.
FITMENT AND MOUNTING
The current range uses suction cups or magnetic strips, depending on the set. Align each panel with its corresponding window and check that it sits securely without being forced against trim or fittings. Mounting design and set contents can vary, so follow the instructions supplied with the product.
These screens are intended for parked use. Remove them before driving, particularly where a screen could affect the driver's view, mirrors or required visibility.
CHOOSE BY USE CASE
For a 4WD parked outside during daily use, start by checking which windows receive the most direct sun. Front coverage may suit routine parking, while rear coverage can be useful where passengers, pets or equipment occupy the back of the vehicle.
Touring and tow vehicles may benefit from broader coverage when parked for extended periods. A full set can also suit owners focused on reducing direct sunlight across more of the cabin. Choose by the listed window coverage rather than assuming every front, rear or full set contains the same panels.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING SOLAR SCREENS
Confirm the model, series and applicable year first. Then compare the windows included, the mounting method and how the panels store when removed. For a Solar Screen LandCruiser set, check whether the vehicle is a 200 Series, 300 Series or Prado rather than relying on the LandCruiser name alone.
Also consider how the vehicle is used. Daily parking, rear-seat occupants, touring equipment and the amount of exposed glass can all affect the most suitable level of coverage.
CARE AND STORAGE
Remove the screens carefully so the reflective material, edges and mounts are not pulled or kinked. Wipe the backing with a damp cloth when required and let it dry before storage. Use the supplied storage bag where included, and avoid placing heavy or sharp equipment on top of the packed screens.
Inspect the reflective surface and mounts periodically. Replace a screen if the material begins to separate, the edges become damaged or the mounts no longer hold it securely.
