4WD ROOF CONSOLE OPTIONS FOR CABIN ORGANISATION

Vehicle-specific, ABS-moulded, fitted cleanly

A 4WD roof console makes practical use of the space above the cabin. It provides console storage for maps, sunglasses, a notebook, an EpiPen and other small gear. An overhead console can also provide a fixed mounting position for a UHF radio, microphone clip, switch plate and associated wiring.

We stock 4WD Interiors roof console products grouped for Toyota, Nissan, Holden, Isuzu, Ford, Mitsubishi and LandRover vehicles. These Australian-made, ABS-moulded consoles are fabric-lined and shaped for specific vehicle applications. UHF and switch provisions vary by product, so the vehicle, generation and planned accessories must be checked before ordering.

KEY CATEGORIES AND WHAT THEY ARE BUILT FOR

TOYOTA CONSOLES

The Toyota listing covers applications including Hilux, Prado and LandCruiser 70, 76, 78 and 79 Series. Exact fitment and accessory cutouts depend on the vehicle generation.

NISSAN CONSOLES

Nissan applications include Patrol GU/Y61 and Y62, Navara and Pathfinder. The headliner profile and mounting arrangement must match the specific model and generation.

HOLDEN AND ISUZU CONSOLES

The catalogue includes a combined Holden and Isuzu roof console listing. Applications described in the current range include Colorado, MU-X and D-MAX, subject to the correct vehicle version.

FORD CONSOLES

Ford applications include Ranger and Everest. PX and Next-Gen vehicles use different headliner profiles, so they should not be treated as interchangeable.

MITSUBISHI CONSOLES

A Mitsubishi roof console is included in the current collection. Confirm the exact model, year and generation before ordering.

LANDROVER DEFENDER CONSOLES

The collection also includes a LandRover Defender roof console. Vehicle details must be checked against the relevant 4WD Interiors application information.

WHAT A ROOF CONSOLE IS FOR

A console addresses storage and accessory placement without adding more equipment around the dashboard. It can keep frequently used small items contained while placing a UHF microphone and selected controls within practical reach. Some buyers describe the unit as a roof console shelf, but it is a moulded, vehicle-specific component rather than a universal shelf.

For useful console storage, choose what needs to remain accessible and avoid overloading the compartment. The main benefit is an organised cabin with wiring routed through the trim instead of left visible along the headliner.

UHF RADIO INTEGRATION

Many 4WD Interiors consoles include a cutout or mounting position for a compact UHF head unit. The microphone clip can be mounted on the front face, while the coax and power wiring are routed through the trim. Compatibility depends on the console version and radio footprint, so both should be checked before installation.

We can pair console fitment with a UHF radio install when both components are being added to the build.

SWITCH PLATES AND ACCESSORY WIRING

Depending on the product, the lower face may accept a Carling or rocker-style switch plate. This can provide a mounting point for driving-light switches, a fridge socket, a dual-battery monitor, compressor controls or other accessory triggers.

Each circuit still needs the appropriate loom, fuse and relay arrangement. The available space, switch layout and wiring path should be planned before the console is fitted.

FITMENT AND HEADLINER WORK

Installation varies by vehicle. A console may use existing grab-handle locations or mounting points at the roof structural cross-member. The sun visors, mirror or front edge of the headliner may need to be released to reach those points.

Headliner work also depends on the application. Do not assume every console is a no-trim fit. The console should sit evenly against the headliner, with secure mounting and concealed wiring. Poor alignment can leave visible gaps or create rattles.

VEHICLE GENERATION SPECIFICS

A console is not transferable between every generation of the same model. A Hilux N70 application differs from an N80, a Patrol Y61 differs from a Y62, and a Ranger PX differs from a Next-Gen Ranger.

We confirm the vehicle, year, model and generation against the relevant 4WD Interiors fit information before ordering. This is particularly important where a model update changed the headliner profile or factory mounting points.

BRAND WE STOCK AND WHY

4WD Interiors is the stocked brand across this collection. Its range uses vehicle-specific moulding, fabric lining and application-specific mounting hardware. UHF cutouts, switch provisions and trim matching can vary, so the product details still need to be checked for each build.

CHOOSE BY USE CASE

For touring, prioritise accessible console storage and a clear UHF microphone position. For a work vehicle, plan the switch layout around the accessories already fitted or scheduled for installation. If the main requirement is simply a roof console shelf for loose items, check the compartment shape and available clearance before adding radio or switch hardware.

A clean installation depends on the correct console, secure mounting and a planned wiring route. Our Ferntree Gully and Pakenham workshops can mount the console, finish the headliner interface and integrate suitable UHF and switch wiring. Send us a service enquiry with your vehicle details and intended accessories so we can confirm the application and arrange the work.

Email sales@ultimateoffroad.com.au with your vehicle details and our friendly staff will confirm fitment, quote the work and arrange a booking at Ferntree Gully or Pakenham.

Frequently asked questions

Will a roof console fit my vehicle?

Fitment depends on the exact vehicle, year and generation. The range includes listings for Toyota, Nissan, Holden, Isuzu, Ford, Mitsubishi and LandRover applications. Send us your vehicle details before ordering. We will check the relevant 4WD Interiors fit information and confirm the appropriate product for that application.

Many consoles have provision for a UHF head unit and microphone clip, but the layout can vary by vehicle and console version. Tell us which radio you plan to use before ordering. We will check the console cutout and mounting arrangement for that combination.

Installation method varies by vehicle. Some consoles use existing grab-handle or roof-structure mounting points, and the headliner may need to be unclipped or finished around the console. Do not assume that every vehicle is a no-trim installation. Confirm the procedure for your application before fitting or speak with our workshop team.

Many consoles have provision for a Carling or rocker-style switch plate on the lower front face. The number and type of controls depend on the specific console and your accessory loom. Confirm the required layout before ordering so the plate, switches and wiring plan suit the vehicle.

The consoles are moulded for specific vehicle applications and are intended to work with the relevant cabin layout. Clearance can differ by model and generation, and mounting may use a grab-handle location. We check the exact application before ordering rather than assuming that one console fits every version.

Send a service enquiry with the vehicle make, model, year and generation, plus details of any UHF radio, switches or other accessories being integrated. Our Ferntree Gully or Pakenham workshop will confirm the application, discuss the required work and provide an available booking option.

We can fit a supplied console if it is vehicle-specific, suitable for the application and provided with the correct mounting hardware. The workshop will need to inspect the product and confirm what is required. Bring or identify all radio brackets, switch plates and wiring components intended for the installation.

A correctly selected and securely mounted console should sit evenly against the headliner. Rattles can result from incorrect hardware, poor alignment, loose accessories or a gap between the console and trim. Our installation process includes checking the mounting, fit and installed accessories before the vehicle is returned.

Warranty treatment depends on the vehicle, the installation method and the cause of any later fault. A console installation should not be described as having no possible warranty effect. Check the terms provided by the vehicle manufacturer or dealer, and ask our workshop how the selected console mounts before proceeding.

The 4WD Interiors range can be shipped nationally. Contact us with the vehicle make, model, year and generation so the application can be checked before dispatch. Freight arrangements depend on the destination and packaged product, so we will confirm the available shipping option when responding to your enquiry.
