A car phone holder in a 4WD cabin needs to grip the phone and place the screen where it can be viewed without an unnecessary shift from the road. WHY THE X-GRIP WORKS

The X-Grip design uses four spring-loaded arms to hold the phone near its corners. This leaves room to insert and remove the device without changing a fixed-width clamp each time. Many cases can remain fitted, although buttons, camera housings, case shape and overall dimensions still need to be checked.

RAM components use a modular ball-and-socket arrangement. The cradle, arm and base can be selected separately, or purchased as a compatible kit where listed. This makes it possible to change the mounting position or arm configuration without automatically replacing the entire setup.

CHOOSE BY PHONE SIZE

Start with the phone while its everyday case is fitted. Standard smartphones will often suit the Universal X-Grip Phone Cradle. Wider phones or bulky protective cases may need the Universal X-Grip Large. The Phone Small X-Grip Pack is intended for more compact devices and tight mounting areas.

Do not choose from the phone name alone. Measure the complete device and check where the X-Grip arms will contact it. Side buttons, charging ports and camera housings should remain accessible. If the fit is close, ask the workshop to check the phone and case before selecting a cradle.

MOUNTING OPTIONS

A complete configuration generally combines a cradle, arm and base. Choosing the right phone mount base depends on the mounting surface, available clearance and the driver's viewing position.

The Diamond Base and Round Drill Base are permanent options for a suitable panel. The No-Drill Vehicle Mount provides an alternative where drilling is not preferred. For a suction phone mount, the Twist-Lock Suction Cup Base is intended for a compatible smooth surface. The Small Tough-Claw and Handlebar U-Bolt Base provide options for suitable rails or bars.

Arm length affects reach and movement. A shorter arm generally provides a more compact setup, while a longer arm offers more positioning range. An X Grip mount should be adjusted so the phone remains clear of controls, the driver's direct view and airbag deployment areas. Check the vehicle information and applicable state regulations before fitting.

PAIRING WITH CHARGING

A standard cradle holds the phone but does not charge it. Plan the charging lead before fixing the base so the cable does not pull against the device, interfere with controls or cross an airbag area. The cable opening and phone port should remain accessible once the cradle is positioned.
