Lift range, ground stability, saddle contact and compatibility with a lifted or loaded vehicle also matter. WHERE THE FACTORY JACK MAY FALL SHORT

A factory jack is supplied for the vehicle's original configuration and designated lifting points. Added load, larger tyres or suspension changes can alter the reach and clearance needed to raise a wheel. Soft or irregular ground also changes the stability of the setup. Do not assume that an accessory jack is automatically suitable either. Confirm its capacity, operating range and contact with the approved jacking point.

A workshop trolley jack addresses smooth-surface servicing. A hi lift jack can suit field use when the vehicle has a compatible jacking point and the setup follows the product instructions. Some owners need both formats because the operating conditions are different.

CHOOSE BY USE CASE

For workshop and driveway use: compare the 1.5T, 2T and 3T Titan Terrain trolley jack options against the vehicle configuration and the jack manufacturer's instructions. Check the required lift range and where the saddle will contact the vehicle. A floor jack still requires a stable working surface and correctly rated support equipment before anyone works underneath.

For off-road use: compare the high lift jack with the RAXAR off-road trolley jack. A hi lift jack requires a suitable jacking point and careful control of the handle and load. A jack base plate can spread the load on softer ground, but it does not make an unstable location safe.

For lifted vehicles or extra reach: check whether a Roadsafe ram extension is compatible with the hydraulic trolley jack and its saddle. If considering a bottle jack or hydraulic bottle jack, apply the same checks to capacity, extension range, base stability and access to the approved jacking point.

SAFETY NOTES

A jack lifts a vehicle. A jack stand supports it while work is carried out. Never work beneath a vehicle supported only by a 4WD jack, whether it is mechanical or hydraulic. Follow the instructions for the jack, vehicle and stands, and do not exceed their stated limits.

A hi lift jack needs particular care. The handle can move suddenly if the load shifts, and the narrow setup can become unstable if the base sinks or the jacking point is unsuitable. Never assume a factory bumper can accept the load. Use only a compatible, approved jacking point and stop if the setup becomes unstable.
