Modularity also makes later changes possible, provided the replacement component uses the correct interface. Check compatibility whenever changing a cradle, arm or base. Tablet dimensions, case design and connection size remain more reliable selection criteria than the device name alone.

CHOOSE BY TABLET AND MOUNTING LOCATION

For an Apple iPad Pro 9.7 used with a case, start with the holder specifically titled for that combination. Earlier Apple iPad Gen 1-4 models and the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 have separate listed holders. The collection also includes holders described for 9.7-inch tablets and 9-inch tablets in heavy-duty cases.

For the mounting location, choose by use case:

• Permanent mounting: Consider a round or diamond drill base only after checking the substrate, fixing method and clearance behind it.

Measure the tablet with its normal case fitted. Check the holder description against the device generation and dimensions. Then plan the screen position from the driver's seated eye line. It should not obstruct the road view, instruments, controls or any identified airbag deployment area.

Allow for charging-cable access and movement at each joint. Confirm that the arm and base use compatible connections, and check that the proposed mounting surface can support the installation method. Vehicle construction and legal requirements vary, so consult the applicable state or territory rules when visibility or cabin safety could be affected.

Some combinations may be suitable for owner installation. Drilled, vehicle-specific or hard-wired setups require more care.
