ROOF RACK PLATFORM KITS FOR 4WD TOURING

Vehicle-specific mounting for awnings, roof top tents and touring equipment

A roof rack platform provides a continuous mounting surface for an awning, roof top tent, recovery boards, solar equipment and other touring gear. Each roof platform must match the vehicle, roof configuration and intended load. That is the important difference between a complete platform system and a pair of universal crossbars.

This collection contains vehicle-specific Front Runner, WedgeTail and Offroad Creative options. It includes roof-mounted kits, a cab-over camper kit and a load-bed kit. Confirm the product title, mounting arrangement and load information before ordering.

Need it fitted? Our Ferntree Gully and Pakenham workshops supply and install everything in this range. Not sure which option suits your vehicle? Call our friendly staff on 1300 633 762 before you order.

KEY CATEGORIES AND WHAT THEY ARE BUILT FOR

FRONT RUNNER SLIMLINE II AND SLIMSPORT KITS

Front Runner Slimline II kits make up most of this collection. Listed applications include Ford Everest, Ford F-Series and Super Duty, Isuzu D-Max, Suzuki Jimny and Chevy Colorado. The collection includes low-profile, tall, cab-over camper and load-bed configurations. A Front Runner Slimsport kit is also listed for Ford Ranger T6, Wildtrak and Raptor. Buyers looking for a slimline rack should still check the exact vehicle and roof configuration.

WEDGETAIL ADVENTURE PLATFORMS

Each WedgeTail platform in this collection is listed for a Ford F-Series 150 Dual Cab. SWB and LWB applications are available for 2021 to current vehicles. The integrated rail arrangement provides the accessory-mounting format described for the WedgeTail Adventure Platform range.

OFFROAD CREATIVE AMERICAN TRUCK PLATFORM

The Offroad Creative listing covers a roof rack for American trucks. Confirm the specific vehicle application with the workshop before ordering.

WHY CHOOSE A VEHICLE-SPECIFIC PLATFORM

A platform provides more mounting positions than crossbars alone. This matters when an awning, tent and several accessories must share the available roof area. Front Runner Slimline II uses a continuous T-slot arrangement, while WedgeTail uses an integrated rail system.

The platform mounting kit is just as important as the deck. Mounting varies between factory rails, factory points, gutters and vehicle-specific legs. Compatibility must be confirmed from the exact kit rather than assumed from a similar vehicle or model year.

CHOOSE A ROOF PLATFORM BY USE CASE

Awning and accessory builds. Plan the mounting positions for the awning, recovery boards, solar equipment and other hardware before selecting the platform size. Check that the required brackets suit the chosen rail system.

Roof top tent builds. Match the tent, platform and vehicle limits. Allow for the other equipment carried while driving, not only the tent itself.

Ute and load-bed builds. The Chevy Colorado Roll Top Slimline II kit places the platform over the load bed. This can suit a build where the tub is the intended equipment area.

American truck builds. Compare the listed Front Runner, WedgeTail platform and Offroad Creative configurations by exact vehicle, cab and mounting requirements.

CHOOSE BY VEHICLE AND MOUNTING

Current Front Runner listings cover Ford Everest from 2022, Ford Ranger T6, Wildtrak and Raptor from 2012 to 2022, several Ford F-250 and F-350 configurations, Isuzu D-Max from 2020, Suzuki Jimny from 2018 and Suzuki Jimny 5 Door from 2023. A Chevy Colorado Roll Top load-bed kit is listed from 2015.

WedgeTail Adventure Platform listings cover Ford F-Series 150 Dual Cab SWB and LWB vehicles from 2021. The collection also includes Trademax crossbars for an F-Series 150 Dual Cab SWB, which is a crossbar configuration rather than a complete roof platform.

LOAD RATINGS AND ACCESSORY MOUNTING

Roof systems use different load considerations when parked and moving. Static load relates to parked use, such as an occupied roof top tent. Dynamic load relates to equipment carried while driving, including off-road shock load. Confirm the specified limits for the vehicle, mounting system and selected platform before finalising the loadout.

Front Runner Slimline II accessories attach through its T-slot system. Available accessory types include awning brackets, recovery board mounts, jerry can holders, shovel brackets, light brackets, solar mounts and water tank mounts. See Roof Rack Accessories for the available range.

PAIRING WITH AN AWNING, TENT AND ACCESSORIES

Treat the platform, brackets and carried equipment as one system. When specifying free standing awnings, hard shell roof top tents or a soft shell tent, check mounting compatibility and the applicable load information together.

For crossbars without a platform deck, see roof bars. For the wider range of platform and bar systems, see roof racks.

BRANDS IN THIS COLLECTION

Front Runner has the widest range of vehicle applications in this collection, including Front Runner Slimline II and Slimsport configurations. WedgeTail focuses on the listed F-Series 150 applications. Offroad Creative provides the broader American truck listing. Brand alone does not determine fitment. The vehicle, cab, roof and intended equipment remain the deciding factors.

WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE ORDERING

Confirm the exact vehicle, model year, cab and roof configuration. Check whether the kit mounts to rails, factory points, gutters or another specified arrangement. Review the static and dynamic load information for the planned equipment. Allow for garage access and overall vehicle height after accessories are installed.

Our Ferntree Gully and Pakenham workshops can confirm the suitable roof rack platform, platform mounting kit and accessory arrangement for your build. We can also fit the system and check the installation against the product instructions. Platforms can be arranged for workshop fitting or Australia-wide shipping.

Submit a service enquiry with your vehicle details, or email sales@ultimateoffroad.com.au, and our friendly staff will confirm fitment, quote the work and arrange a booking at Ferntree Gully or Pakenham.

Frequently asked questions

Will a Slimline II fit my vehicle?

Fitment depends on the vehicle, model year, cab and roof configuration. This collection includes Front Runner Slimline II listings for selected Ford, Isuzu, Suzuki and Chevy applications. Send us those vehicle details before ordering and we will check the current product listing and mounting arrangement rather than relying on a similar model.

Front Runner Slimline II is the main platform range represented in this collection, with several roof, cab-over and load-bed configurations. A WedgeTail platform uses a different integrated rail arrangement. Confirm accessory compatibility for the selected kit.

An awning can be fitted when the selected bracket, platform and awning are compatible. Front Runner Slimline II brackets use the platform rail arrangement described for this range. Confirm the awning weight, mounting position and vehicle limits before ordering. The current accessory path is free standing awnings.

A roof top tent can be fitted when the platform, mounting system and vehicle are specified for the intended load. Check moving-load information for the tent and equipment carried on the road. Check parked-load information separately when the tent will be occupied. The workshop can review the complete combination before fitting.

The mounting method varies by product and vehicle. Kits may use factory rails, factory mounting points, gutters, vehicle-specific legs or a load-bed arrangement. The correct platform mounting kit must match the exact model, year, cab and roof configuration. Review the product instructions or ask the workshop to confirm the arrangement before ordering.

A roof rack platform and the equipment carried on it can affect aerodynamic drag and fuel use. The result depends on the vehicle, platform profile and installed load. A tent or other tall equipment can have a greater effect than an unloaded low-profile platform. No fixed percentage should be assumed for every build.

Platform weight and load limits vary by kit size, mounting system and vehicle. Check the product information for the exact configuration rather than applying a general figure across Front Runner, WedgeTail or Offroad Creative products. Static and dynamic limits should be considered separately, along with the vehicle manufacturer's roof information.

Accessory choice depends on the platform rail system and the available mounting space. Typical options described for this range include awning brackets, recovery board mounts, jerry can holders, shovel brackets, solar mounts, water tank mounts and light brackets. Check the Roof Rack Accessories range and confirm compatibility with the selected platform.

Measure the vehicle at its highest point and compare it with the available garage clearance. Include the platform, brackets, awning, roof top tent and any equipment that remains installed. Added height varies by vehicle and configuration, so a general clearance figure is not reliable. The workshop can help review the planned installation.

Send us the vehicle model, year, cab, roof configuration and planned accessories. We can confirm the current kit and arrange fitting at Ferntree Gully or Pakenham. Platforms can also be shipped Australia-wide. Some products require a freight booking because of their size, so delivery arrangements should be confirmed before ordering.

Warranty terms depend on the selected product, supplier conditions and the nature of any workshop work. Ask Ultimate Offroad to confirm the applicable product and installation terms before purchase. Keep the order information and follow the supplied use, load and maintenance instructions, as those details may be relevant if a warranty assessment is required.

Compliance depends on the vehicle, mounting method, installed height, carried load and the regulations that apply in your state or territory. Do not assume that every platform or accessory combination is approved for every vehicle. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, check applicable state regulations and speak with our Ferntree Gully or Pakenham workshop about the proposed installation.
