Introducing the next evolution in vehicle access. Clearview Swing Boards redefine the electric side step with an innovative design that offers convenience, safety, and style.
Getting into and out of your vehicle should be easy. That’s why we created the Clearview Swing Boards. Unlike traditional side steps that only drop straight down, Clearview Swing Boards take it a step further – literally. With a smooth drop and an arched outward swing, they create a wider, unrestricted stepping platform. This unique motion ensures every entry and exit is not only safer and more stable but also effortlessly comfortable.
Clearview Swing Boards take a different approach to traditional electric side steps. Instead of merely dropping straight down, forcing the passenger to step awkwardly close to the sill, (often twisting their knee or ankle to hoist themselves inside), these boards utilise an innovative “swing” motion. When the door sensor triggers the mechanism, the board swings outward and lowers into position simultaneously.
This arced movement places the step further away from the vehicle body, creating a true “staircase” effect rather than a ladder-climb sensation. By positioning the stepping platform further out, the board meets your foot where it naturally falls, allowing for a fluid, forward-momentum entry into the cabin.

Innovative Design: Clearview Swing Boards redefine electric side steps. By swinging outward and lowering into position, they offer a more natural and confident stepping experience. Forget awkward angles – just open your door and the step is right where you need it.
-
Ergonomic Advantage: Step up with ease. The outward and downward motion of the Swing Boards is engineered for optimal comfort, significantly reducing the strain of climbing into and out of your vehicle. It’s a practical solution for daily drivers, families with young children, or anyone who needs a little extra support.
-
Seamless Integration: Your vehicle is a statement. Our Swing Boards are designed to enhance it. Engineered to complement your vehicle’s existing lines, the boards are sleek, durable, and built to perform. When retracted, they tuck away cleanly, preserving your vehicle’s ground clearance and aesthetics. When deployed, they look like a factory installed feature.

Swing Into the Future of Vehicle Access.
The primary advantage of the Swing Board design is ergonomic comfort. Climbing into a large SUV like the Toyota Prado 250 Series can strain the hips and knees, especially for children, the elderly, or anyone with mobility challenges. The Swing Boards lower to an accessible height – dropping 80mm downwards – while swinging out to provide a wide, unrestricted platform. This geometry significantly reduces the physical effort required to enter the vehicle. The boards themselves are substantial, measuring 150mm in width and 1485mm in length. This generous surface area provides confident footing, even for those wearing heavy work boots or hiking gear.
One of the standout specifications of the new Swing Boards is their strength. Each step boasts a massive 300kg load capacity. This ensures that the boards remain stable and secure even when supporting fully geared-up passengers or heavy equipment loading.
IP68 Rated Motors: The heart of any electric step is the motor. If water gets in, the step fails. The Clearview Swing Boards’ IP68-rated motors indicates that the motors are dust-tight and can withstand immersion in water beyond 1 meter.
What happens if the step deploys while an obstacle is in the way? Clearview has integrated a safety cut-off feature into the Swing Board system. The board utilises sensitive resistance detection. If the step encounters an obstruction – whether it’s a rock, or a person’s leg, or a child’s arm – during its closing cycle, it instantly holds its position. This prevents damage to the motor, damage to the vehicle, and, most importantly, injury to the user.
Modern 4x4s, particularly the new Toyota Prado 250 Series, are designed with sleek lines and aerodynamic profiles. Bolt-on accessories can sometimes look out of place, disrupting the vehicle’s visual flow.
Clearview Swing Boards are designed to blend in when not in use. When the door closes, the board automatically retracts, tucking away cleanly against the body of the vehicle. This preserves the vehicle’s ground clearance – crucial for off-roading – and maintains the factory aesthetic. When retracted, they blend so seamlessly that they look like a factory-installed feature rather than an aftermarket add-on.
No-Drill Installation: For vehicle owners concerned about corrosion or structural integrity, the installation process is a major plus. The Swing Boards are designed to mount directly into existing factory holes. There is no need to drill new holes into the chassis or bodywork. This non-invasive installation method preserves the vehicle’s resale value and structural warranties.
Each side is supported by two strong mounting brackets, ensuring rigidity and long-term durability without altering the vehicle’s frame.
Power Boards vs Swing Boards Guide
Choosing the right electric side step depends on your specific needs. The Clearview Power Board is the perfect solution if you need significant height assistance, especially for getting into raised or high-clearance vehicles. It drops straight down (up to 300mm) to substantially reduce the step-up distance. In contrast, the Clearview Swing Board is designed for those who want a more comfortable and secure stepping experience. It swings outward and drops down (up to 80mm) to present a wider, more accessible stepping platform, making entry and exit feel safer and more ergonomic.
Caring for your Clearview Swing Boards
Whilst the motors don’t require maintenance, regular routine cleaning will help ensure the continued smooth operation of your Clearview Swing Boards.
- Using a garden hose, rinse away any loose dirt and grime that has built up on the Swing Boards, their arms, and the areas around them.
- Fill a bucket with warm water and mild car wash, and gently clean the Swing Boards with a soft towel. Any hard-to-remove substances can be spot cleaned with a road grime & tar remover, ensuring to re-wash that area afterwards. Rinse well with clean water afterwards.
- Dry the Swing Boards and their motorised arms with another soft towel.
- If your powder coated Swing Board arms are losing their shine, you can apply a thin layer of high-grade non-abrasive car wax after they’ve been cleaned. Wipe all the wax off once its dried and the powder coat should look like new again! Use a car wax brand that contains a UV blocker or UV inhibitors. Do not use compound-type waxes as they contain abrasives that can harm the powder coating. More information on maintaining powder coated surfaces can be found here.
- Avoid detailing sprays to give a high shine on the tread or step as it can make it slippery and unsafe to stand on.
- Stay away from harsh chemicals as they can degrade the protective finish or discolour it.
- Stay within the load-bearing limits of your Swing Boards. If more than one person stands on a power board and exceeds its capacity, it could bend the board or break the arms.
Pressure Washing Warning
When using a power washer on your vehicle – please take care not to subject the Swing Board to the pressured water spray. High Pressure water washing of the Swing Boards can affect the electrical operation by forcing water into electrical connections. Although the Swing Board components are sealed, they are not designed to handle high pressure water directly. Damage resulting from water ingress from high pressure devices is not covered under warranty.
