The Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series is built for comfort, technology, and off-road capability, but its factory payload capacity can be restrictive when you add touring gear, accessories, and towing equipment.
Remaining under the Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) can be difficult when setting up for long trips or work use.

With a Tough Dog GVM upgrade, your 300 Series maintains safe handling, braking, and stability under heavy loads. Depending on requirements, testing includes:
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) testing: Verifies axle strength and maximum carrying capacity.
- Brake Testing: Conducted laden, unladen, and under partial failure in compliance with ADR35/00.
- ESC Testing: If required, ensures the electronic stability control system remains equal to or better than OEM performance.
The GVM is the maximum legal weight a vehicle can carry when fully loaded. A Tough Dog GVM upgrade increases the 300 Series’ carrying capacity without breaching ADRs or road laws.
Certification depends on registration status:
- Federal Approval: For new vehicles prior to first registration. Includes an additional compliance plate.
- State Approval: For registered vehicles, certification is achieved using Federal compliance data alongside an inspection by an authorised state engineer.
