- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) testing: Confirms axle strength and maximum load rating.
- Brake Testing: Conducted laden, unladen, and under partial failure in compliance with ADR35/00.
- ESC Testing: If required, ensures the electronic stability control system remains as good as, or better than, OEM standards.
The GVM is the maximum manufacturer-specified weight a vehicle can carry when fully loaded. A Tough Dog GVM upgrade allows your Amarok to legally carry more without breaching ADRs or road laws.
Certification depends on registration status:
- Federal Approval: For new vehicles not yet registered. An additional compliance plate is supplied with the kit.
- State Approval: For already-registered vehicles, certification is achieved using Federal compliance data plus an inspection by an authorised state engineer.
